Innovative Curriculum
The curriculum is well defined, innovative, age- appropriate and with unique teaching and learning practices that encourage the child to learn at his/her own pace. The curriculum takes into account the different learning styles of the children and the activities are designed to allow children to explore concepts and ideas using multiple intelligences. This provides a child with an opportunity to grow with multiple skill sets and emerge as a winner. To incorporate this, we have thematic rooms and multiple learning spaces like art studio, dance studio, toy library, Montessori lab, ICT lab, community and dramatics space, kitchen space, Gym area, splash pool etc..
We have developed our curriculum after extensive research and comparative analysis in collaboration with eminent academicians. It promotes social, cultural, physical, mental, moral and spiritual development of pupils and prepares our students for new global challenges.
Welcome Time
We believe that every day of kindergarten should be interesting. So we begin our day with a Welcome time. The teacher greets and receives every child with amazing ideas like holding a hand puppet and saying ‘hello’ as they enter the class or even with a necklace of vowels-a, e, i, o, u.
Choice time
“ Play is often thought about as if it was relief form learning, but for children play is serious learning” – Fred Rogers. So we have a Choice time which allows to children to choose and do free expressions with crayons, clay modeling, building blocks or painting with different materials. This becomes an ice breaker and makes children comfortable for the further day.
Snack time
During Snack time, children are primed about table manners, hygiene, and benefits of eating healthy food. Nutri-deal, Slice – O –Munch activities are conducted on every Fridays to promote healthy eating habits among kids. Besides these, activities like Leader of the week, Life skill / value of the week, Sports person of the week etc are conducted.
'Music & Movement Time'
During the ‘Music & Movement Time’ students sing rhymes with actions. In the ‘circle / story time’ the students are introduced to National leaders, eminent scientists& sports personalities. These are done in various learning spaces like community space, amphitheatre, toy library etc. To develop large motor skill activity, students are encouraged to use the gym, sand play, and activity hub & splash pool.
Theme time
Every day the teacher marks the attendance through an activity. For eg: Asking each child to name the snack carried by them in the snack box to school. This is followed by Theme time in which literacy / numeracy / concepts on Environmental Awareness are taught through many interesting and thought provoking activities.
Recapitulation is done at the end of the day during the ‘Quiet time ‘by taking them through the day & recall all the activities done during the day. Teachers also ask them what they liked and why. Theme based events like color day, rhyme time; story time, quiz time etc are organized regularly. Parents involvement and participation are encouraged through events like cooking contest, grandparents day, doll display, costume competition, garba dance etc. Students go on field trips and excursions as a part of their study program for further enrichment of the concepts & experiential learning.
Objective based worksheets with clear learning outcomes are sent regularly for reinforcement of the concepts. Extended learning like The Home Connection is also included in the curriculum.
Eg: Children are asked to go for a walk in their neighborhood and identify things that cause air pollution and noise pollution. Enrichment worksheets for early & quick learners are prepared where as Remediation worksheets are designed to help late / slow learners. The parents are regularly updated with the activities done by their children & their learning outcome through our school app.
